Date

Project Objective
The goal of the RentPass MVP is to enable renters to create a single verified digital rental profile that can be securely shared with landlords and agents, reviewed quickly, and used to complete tenancy agreements end-to-end.
The MVP is intentionally scoped to validate the core product value while keeping development efficient, focused, and scalable for future phases. The goal of MVP is to Present to investors and sell licenses to real estate and referencing companies
Tenant (Renter) Features
1. Account Creation & Onboarding
Tenants can create an account and complete a structured onboarding flow that captures all essential rental information.
Onboarding includes:
Email and phone authentication
Personal details (name, date of birth, nationality, current address)
Employment information (employer, role, start date)
Income range and affordability details
Move-in readiness and budget range
Emergency contact
Consent and authorization screens for verification and data sharing
The onboarding process is designed to be thorough but guided, ensuring high-quality renter profiles for landlord review.
2. Document Vault
Tenants have access to a secure document vault to upload and manage rental-related documents.
Supported document categories include:
Identification documents
Proof of income
Employment verification documents
Reference letters
Additional supporting documents
Core functionality:
Upload, view, and delete documents
Clear document categorization
Document status indicators (verified / pending / unverified)
3. Verified Digital Profile
Each tenant has a consolidated, shareable digital profile (“RentPass”) that presents their rental credibility at a glance.
The profile includes:
Identity verification status
Income verification status
Rental history summary
High-level document indicators
Overall profile completion status
This profile is optimized for fast landlord and agent review.
4. Rental History Timeline
Tenants can create a rental history timeline similar to a travel or stay history.
Each rental entry includes:
Property location
Rental duration (start and end dates)
Optional landlord or agent contact
Optional notes or outcome status
For landlords, the timeline is displayed as:
A chronological history of rentals
Locations and durations
Verification indicators where documentation exists
5. One-Click Profile Sharing
Tenants can securely share their RentPass profile using:
Secure shareable links
QR codes
Sharing controls include:
Permission settings per share (what information is visible)
Ability to revoke access
View tracking (basic audit trail of profile views)
6. Application Tracking
Tenants can track rental applications in a lightweight system.
Application statuses include:
Draft
Shared
Under review
Approved
Rejected
Each application can store:
Property details
Notes
Associated documents
Signed tenancy agreements
7. Digital Contract Signing
Tenants can review and sign tenancy agreements directly within the app.
Flow:
Landlord uploads tenancy agreement
Tenant reviews and signs digitally
Landlord countersigns
Fully executed document is stored securely in both accounts
8. Guarantor Link
Tenants can strengthen their rental profile by securely adding a verified guarantor. The guarantor is digitally linked to the tenant’s RentPass, increasing landlord and agent confidence during the application review process.
Guarantors complete a lightweight verification flow and are linked to the tenant profile without exposing unnecessary personal data.
How It Works
Tenant sends a secure guarantor invite link
Guarantor creates an account and completes identity verification
Guarantor provides basic financial or supporting documents
Once verified, the guarantor is linked to the tenant’s RentPass profile
Landlords and agents can view the guarantor status when reviewing applications
Guarantor Information Display
The tenant’s verified profile displays:
Guarantor status (linked / verified / pending)
Relationship to tenant
Verification status indicator
Supporting documents (only if permission is granted)
This information is visible to landlords and agents only when explicitly shared by the tenant.
